DAVE DREYFUS
FOUNDER, HEAD TRAINER
Dad. Husband. Dog Trainer. Die-hard Red Sox Fan.
Dave Dreyfus is a Certified Dog Trainer and Founder of EveryDog. His successful journey to being one of the most highly-recommended trainers in Southern California started with a hardship he endured while in the midst of his career as an Associate Producer at ESPN.
Dave had a pit bull mix named Rocky who was diagnosed with lymphoma at the age of 5. He lasted 2 years and 8 months from diagnosis, and Rocky’s battle with cancer changed Dave’s life forever. Even though he was a 2-time Emmy winner at ESPN, Dave knew something was missing in his life. The need to do more to serve dogs blossomed during his time caring for Rocky, and soon became his sole focus.

Frequently Asked Questions
Get informed about what makes EveryDog unlike any facility in Southern California.
How do I get my pup into this awesome program?
Your pup must be between 8-20 weeks old, have a negative fecal test, and have one set of vaccinations (including bordetella) at least one week prior to their first day.
I was told my pup can’t be around other dogs until he is fully vaccinated. What makes EveryDog different?
Safe socialization is the most important part of your pup’s critical development between 8-16 weeks. Safe is the operative word here, and this is where EveryDog stands apart from average canine facilities. We create a safe, sterile environment that enables pups to take part in the natural socialization activities they require.
The American Veterinarian Society of Animal Behavior (i.e. really, really smart peeps) have a whole position statement on the subject that it should be the standard of care for puppies to receive such socialization before they are fully vaccinated.
What is puppy socialization, and why is it important?
Puppy socialization is the process of exposing puppies to a variety of people, places, sounds, and experiences in a positive way, in order to help them develop into confident, well-adjusted adult dogs. It is important because early socialization can help prevent behavior problems and increase the likelihood of a happy, healthy, and successful lifelong relationship between a dog and their owner.
How old should my puppy be before starting a socialization program?
Puppies should begin socialization as early as possible, ideally between 8 and 16 weeks of age. This is a critical period in a puppy’s development when they are most receptive to new experiences and learning.
What types of socialization experiences will my puppy have in your program?
Our EveryDog puppy socialization programs include supervised playtime with other puppies, exposure to a variety of sights and sounds, and positive interactions with different people of all ages and sizes.
What types of activities do dogs participate in during daycare?
Dogs in our daycare program participate in a variety of activities, including supervised playtime with other dogs, training exercises, and mental stimulation games.
Can my dog participate in daycare if they have behavioral issues or special needs?
We evaluate each dog on a case-by-case basis to determine if daycare is appropriate for them. We also offer specialized training programs for dogs with behavioral issues or special needs.
What requirements are needed to schedule a Meet-and-Greet?
We need the following vaccines up-to-date:
– DAPP
– Rabies
– Bordetella (within last 6 months)
– Canine Influenza (at least first round)
– Negative fecal test (within last 6 months)
What types of training programs do you offer?
EveryDog offers a variety of training programs to meet the needs of different dogs and owners, including puppy training, obedience training, behavior modification training, and protocols for separation anxiety.
What types of training techniques do you use?
We only espouse and use force-free methods based in science and positive reinforcement. We do not use physical punishment, coercion, intimidation nor any other harsh training methods. We choose to work proactively rather than reactively.
So, how do I get started?
We start with low-cost ($79) consults for private, in-home sessions. It gives us an opportunity to get a detailed history of your dog and situation. You will learn how dogs learn and process information, so you have a better understanding of how to best teach and/or alter their behavior. Then, we discuss what is best to move forward for your situation!
What is day training, and how does it work?
EveryDog’s day training program is where one of our professional trainers works one-on-one with your dog during the day while you’re at work or otherwise occupied. Our trainer provides personalized training sessions and then transfers the training knowledge to you during pickup sessions.
How is day training different from regular training classes?
Day training provides individualized attention and training for your dog while you’re away, allowing for more concentrated training in a shorter period of time. Regular training classes involve group training sessions where you participate with your dog.
What is board-and-train, and how does it work?
EveryDog’s Stay-and-Train (our take on Board-and-Train) includes 24/7 supervision at our facility, managed, supervised play in small playgroups, and training sessions throughout the day that are tailored to the goals and needs you have for your dog.
What is the daily routine like for dogs in board-and-train?
Dogs in EveryDog board-and-train programs typically have a structured daily routine that includes training sessions, socialization, exercise, and rest time.
Will I be able to visit my dog during board-and-train?
Depending on the trainer and the progress of your dog, you may be able to visit your dog during the board-and-train period. However, for the best results, it’s generally recommended that you wait until the end of the program to pick up your dog.
How will my dog’s progress be monitored during board-and-train?
EveryDog trainers provide regular updates on your dog’s progress during board-and-train, and may also send photos or videos of training sessions. At the end of the program, you’ll receive a thorough report on your dog’s progress and recommendations for continued training.
What types of accommodations do you offer for my dog?
Our resort boarding includes daycare and a personal suite where you can bring your dog’s bed and other personal belongings.
What is the daily routine like for dogs in resort boarding?
Your dog will be in play groups during the day, with breaks for meals, and any necessary naps. At night, your dog will sleep in a personalized suite. We also offer a range of activities and amenities from training add-ons to enrichment walks to stuffed kongs!
Are you staffed 24/7?
Absolutely! We always have someone supervising so your dog is always cared for, day or night.
Can I bring my dog’s own food and toys?
Yes, we encourage owners to bring their dog’s familiar food, toys, and bedding to help them feel more comfortable during their stay.
What services do you offer in your salon, and spa grooming programs?
We offer a range of services to keep your dog looking and feeling their best, including baths, haircuts, nail trims, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing.
Will I need to drop of my dog for the day?
Absolutely not. We pride ourselves on being appointment-only, so you will have a specific appointment time and your dog will be taken immediately upon arrival.
How long does a typical grooming appointment take?
The length of a grooming appointment depends on the type of service and your dog’s size and coat type. Our groomers will provide you with an estimated timeframe when you drop off your dog.
Do you offer any add-on services?
Yes, we offer a range of add-on services to customize your dog’s grooming experience, including various spa treatments, teeth brushing, dematting and deshedding, as well speciality shampoos and conditioners.
